Ancelotti pointed towards the many famous comebacks that have happened over two legs in the Champions League. Most famously, Barcelona overturned a 4-0 defeat against PSG in the first leg of the round of 16 in 2017, by beating the French side 6-1 at Camp Nou. The tie is responsible for the term 'remontada', meaning comeback in Spanish, becoming popular parlance in world football.

For this comeback to come to fruition, Real Madrid will have to step up their game. Arsenal were outstanding in the first leg, and with Declan Rice's two free kicks, secured a well deserved 3-0 win.
