Ex-Wrexham striker Trundle believes Mullin could be targeted by second tier outfits in the summer window of 2024, saying when speaking to – who provide the latest : “I'd look at Paul Mullin at Wrexham as I think he deserves a chance to prove himself at a higher level. He has all the attributes – finishing, technique, touch, and I think he's a very good player. You don't know how good a player is if they don't get the chance! There are a lot of other players who could make the step up to the Premier League as the Championship has a lot of talented players at the moment.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
For now, Mullin is focused on trying to fire Wrexham to back-to-back promotions. Trundle can see them getting over that line, adding on efforts to secure a top-three finish in 2023-24: “I would like to see Wrexham win League Two this season, but Stockport are a very strong side in their own right. I've seen them play a few times this season, and they're a good team. I think Wrexham will be quite happy where they are at the moment. They've had plenty of seasons where they've been competing at the top of the table and they'll be aware of the pressure that comes with that. Wrexham will be looking behind them and noticing how far back the team in fourth are.
"There are three automatic promotion spots in League Two and as long as you stay there, you'll be ok – especially in your first season back in the Football League. Most fans would have gladly taken an automatic promotion at the start of the season, even if it wasn't in first place. I'd predict that Wrexham will really push for a chance to finish first once the finish line is in sight. For now, however, I think they'll keep taking each game as it comes and try to maintain this position. Any team who finds themselves in the automatic spots in their first season back is doing a great job, no matter what their finances are. I think Phil Parkinson is doing a great job there."

Parkinson has his side sat second in the table at present, five points adrift of leaders Stockport with a game in hand, but is about to shift collective focus to FA Cup matters as the Red Dragons prepare to face Championship side Blackburn in the fourth round of that competition.
