Arsenal and City handed Liverpool the advantage in the title race after playing out a 0-0 draw at the Etihad. Liverpool beat Brighton 2-1 earlier in the day and now sit two points clear of the Gunners at the top of the Premier League table. Pep Guardiola's side are now third, a point behind Arsenal with all three teams now having just nine games left to play.

Arsenal may be frustrated to only take a point from City but will feel progress has been made. City ran out 4-1 winners in the same fixture last season on their way to the title. The Gunners will also need no reminding they headed to the Etihad on Sunday having lost on their last eight trips to the City's home and, while they couldn't secure a victory on Sunday, they do at least remain above Guardiola's side in the table ahead of what promises to be an intriguing run-in.
WHAT SALIBA SAID
Saliba told : "We cannot be satisfied when we draw, but it is ok. We learn from some games that we cannot win. We don't have to lose, and we didn't so we did well. We leave with one point but we are not satisfied. We know it is the best team in the world so we have to keep focussed all the game. We managed to stop them scoring but we did not score ourselves. But we are happy, let's see how it turns out."

Arsenal are only the fourth team to keep a clean sheet against a side managed by Guardiola in two league matches in the same season, after Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014-15, Manchester United in 2020-21, and Crystal Palace in 2021-22.
